Murray on cruise control to beat Tursanov

Andy Murray into second round of Hamburg Open
Britain's Andy Murray has eased into the second round at the Hamburg Open with a straightforward 6-4 6-1 victory over Dmitry Tursanov.

Murray remains undefeated against the Russian in four meetings, and the latest in the opening round of the clay-court tournament in Germany was typically one-sided.

The Scot raced into an early lead and rarely looked back, breaking his opponent once while at the same time looking solid behind his own serve.

And if the first set was something of a stroll for the world number 20, the second was as simple as they come.

Three breaks of serve for Murray ensured he marches on into the second round, where he will face Frenchman Gilles Simon who knocked out Xavier Malisse 6-4 7-5.

If Murray can successfully negotiate that match he could face world number two and clay specialist Rafael Nadal in the penultimate warm-up tournament before the French Open begins at Roland Garros later this month.End of story
