Seven extra dates have been added to Kylie Minogue's UK tour after the first eight gigs sold out in under two hours.

Tickets for concerts in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast went on sale at 09:00 GMT yesterday but were snapped up by fans eager to see the Showgirl back in action.

The Aussie was forced to suspend her 2005 tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer, but confirmed the 2008 European tour last week.

In a statement on her website, Kylie said the shows will be "a new and exciting experience for both the audience and myself".

"The eclectic mix of sounds on [new album] X is affording me an opportunity to explore and develop a new live show that will be fresh, exhilarating and innovative," she added.

"After two celebratory tours, X will be a look to the future but will definitely include favourites alongside the new. I can't wait to share it with you next year."

The extra tour dates are on June 29th at Belfast's Odyssey arena; July 8th and 9th at Glasgow's SECC; July 17th and 18th at Manchester Arena; and July 29th and 30th at the O2 Arena in London.

A statement from the pop pixie's management added last week: "Inspired by her new album X, Kylie and her creative team have devised a new show that she describes herself as 'fresh, exhilarating and innovative'.

"The new show will be a totally different concept to previous Minogue spectaculars, which have seen her fuse her remarkable creativity with groundbreaking technology to become one of the most respected live performers of our time."
