Lindsay Davenport has pulled out of the forthcoming French Open, citing 'personal reasons' for her decision.
The former world number one only returned to competitive tennis in September after taking an 11-month break to have her son, Jagger.
Though she won three of the four tournaments she entered over the first three months of her comeback, more recently the 31-year-old has been defeated in the second round of the Australian Open by Maria Sharapova and been forced to pull out of the Amelia Island Championships in Florida due to illness.
The announcement comes just days after fellow Americans Meilen Tu and Meghann Shaughnessy confirmed that they will be sitting out of the Roland Garros event through injury.
Meanwhile, 2004's defeated finalist Guillermo Coria has been announced as the replacement for the injured Andy Roddick.
The world number six was forced to pull out of the competition and miss the US team's World Team Cup event in Germany earlier thus week, due to a recurrence of an upper-back problem.
However, the 25-year-old is confident of making a return in time for the start of the grass court season.
