Twelve charged in connection with teenage murder

Twelve males charged in connection with murder of David Nowak
Twelve males have today been charged with offences in connection with the murder of 16-year-old David Nowak in Stoke Newington, north London, in December.

David died of a single stab wound to the liver and kidney last year after a dispute broke out outside a community centre in Shacklewell Road late on a Saturday night.

A birthday party had been taking place in the centre and police believe a group of youths, including David, were involved in a dispute after they left the party. David was then followed to a nearby playground where he was stabbed.

Three other males were also taken to London hospitals suffering from stab wounds but their injuries were not serious.

Today Metropolitan police confirmed that 12 males have been charged in relation with the incident.

Eric Sackey, 20, and Dolovan Barzey, 18, are charged with murder, attempted murder, violent disorder and possessing of an offensive weapon.

Castro Paris, 18, and a 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with similar offences.

Courtney Bramble, 18, and a 16-year-old male have been charged with murder, attempted murder and violent disorder.

Gavin Goupall, 21, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old male have been charged with murder and violent disorder.

Marlon Cyrus, 19, is charged with murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

And a 16-year-old male has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, violent disorder and possessing of an offensive weapon.

All 12 have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Thames magistrate's court tomorrow.
