Paris Hilton's trip to Rwanda has been postponed by the charity organising the visit.
The Playing for Good Foundation said it was rescheduling the trip and thanked the celebrity heiress for her support for the organisation.
In a statement, the charity said: "Due to the restructuring of the Playing for Good Foundation, the philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned with Paris Hilton has been postponed.
"Paris has been a loyal and gracious supporter of Playing For Good but the foundation has to regrettably reschedule this trip. Playing for Good would like to thank Ms Hilton for her generosity and her continued support of this initiative and is looking forward to rescheduling the trip with her at a later time," the charity stated.
News of the planned trip first emerged after Hilton promised to be a better role model after her release from a 23-day jail sentence for driving with a suspended licence. The reality TV star turned singer and actress vowed also recently said that constant partying had left her feeling "empty inside".
The Simple Life star told Newsweek earlier this month that the planned trip to developing country Rwanda would help spread awareness about important issues.
Speaking to the magazine at the time, Hilton said: "Before, my life was about having fun, going to parties - it was a fantasy. But when I had time to reflect, I felt empty inside.
"I want to leave a mark on the world," she added.
