Julien Faubert has revealed he wants to leave West Ham United in the transfer window and return to France.
The winger wants to go back to his homeland to boost his chances of breaking into the national team.
Faubert made just eight appearances last season after injuring his knee soon after his move from Bordeaux.
The 25-year-old has been playing regularly under Gianfranco Zola and started in the 2-1 win over Stoke City at Upton Park.
But he has been linked with a move to Paris St-Germain and Lyon, and admits he is keen on a move away from England.
"I need to play, I am 25 years old," Faubert told Le Parisien.
"Even if I feel very well here, I would not exclude the possibility of returning to France. I hope that Raymond Domenech has not forgotten me - because I have not forgotten Les Bleus.
"Even if I am good here, I don't rule out the possibility of returning to France.
"Clubs like Lyon and PSG are very attractive. We'll see in January."
The midfielder has made only one appearance for Les Bleus, when he came off the bench against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly and scored the winning goal in 2006.
The news is a blow to Zola who is facing losing Craig Bellamy in the January transfer window. He could also lose more top players due to the Hammers' perilous financial position.
