Champion jockey Kieran Fallon has been banned from racing for 18 months after failing a drugs test.
The 42-year old has been issued with the suspension by French racing authority France Galop after testing positive for a banned substance - believed to be cocaine - in August 2007.
He was previously given a six-month suspension by France Galop in November 2006 after testing positive for a metabolite of cocaine - a substance remaining after the body has consumed the drug.
The jockey returned to action in July 2007 at Tipperary, but was summoned by officials after failing a drugs test on August 19th that year, following his win on Myboycharlie in the group one Prix Morny at Deauville.
The news of Fallon's latest failure came just a day after he was cleared of race-fixing at the Old Bailey in December 2007 after the judge dismissed the case due to lack of evidence.
Fallon's lawyer Christopher Stewart-Moore had confirmed the accuracy of the initial reports at the time, which were first broken by the Daily Mail, but had called the integrity of the test into question.
"I can confirm the report in the Daily Mail is correct," he told the BBC on Saturday December 8th.
He added: "We are looking into the matter as there are parts of it which are curious."
Fallon's last ride in 2007 was a victorious one, steering Dylan Thomas to success in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October.
