The Brazilian army and air force have ended their search for the bodies of those killed in the Air France crash into the Atlantic.
However, France's navy will continue to search for the aircraft's black box with a submarine searching the depths of the ocean while ships search for signals on the surface of the Atlantic.
228 people were on board the flight which went down in mysterious circumstances and 51 bodies have been located during the search operation which has lasted almost a month.
Explaining the decision to end the search, Brazilian Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Henry Munhoz said: "Even though we wanted to recover all the 228 people, we now truly believe that we have done all we can, between the navy and the air force. So, we are ending operations with 51 recovered bodies.
The cause of the crash is still to be ascertained with theories ranging from faulty instruments giving inaccurate data that affected the plane's flight speed, to a lightning strike, to pilot error.
