Angelina Jolie is celebrating the birth of twins with partner Brad Pitt by her side, her doctor has confirmed.
The 33-year-old Hollywood actress gave birth to a boy and girl at the hospital in Nice, France, she was admitted to last month.
"The babies are doing well," Jolie's doctor Michel Sussmann told People magazine.
According to the magazine Jolie who has named her son Knox Leon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline gave birth by caesarean section.
"The operation went just perfectly," Dr Sussmann continued.
"Angelina is in very good spirits. Brad Pitt was at her side. He was there and all was well."
Knox weighted 5.03lbs at birth and Vivienne 5lbs the doctor added.
Jolie and Pitt already have four children together; Maddox, six; Pax, four; Zahara, three; and Shiloh, two.
First pictures of the two newest additions to the Brangelina clan are expected to sell for millions of dollars.
