Steve Harmison has questioned Australia's confidence heading into the Ashes series next week.
Speaking after bowling at the Australians in a warm up game for the England Lions in Worcester, the pace bowler declared he hadn't seen any of the visitor's usual swagger.
"One thing I picked up on is they are not as brash and confident as they normally are," he said.
"There are things you pick up on like body language. I've seen a little chink there."
Harmison was a crucial part of the England team which defeated Australia in the 2005 Ashes.
In recent months though he has struggled to make it into the England team, although bowling figures of 3-67 on Wednesday may provide selectors with food for thought.
Even if he does miss out on the Ashes team, Harmison claims he has seen plenty on which England can take heart.
"They don't seem to be the confident Australia I've known. I think there is only Ricky Ponting and Brett Lee who have played more Ashes Tests than myself in the two squads," he said yesterday.
"Maybe it is to do with gelling together or whether they don't have the big players of recent years.
"There is definitely something to work on for England and, if we can bat well, we have half a chance to win the Ashes back."
