The family of a man shot during his honeymoon has flown to Antigua to be at his bedside.
Benjamin Mullany, 31, is currently fighting for his life after being shot in the neck during a botched robbery on Sunday morning.
His new wife Catherine Mullany, nee Bowen, died after also being shot in the incident.
The Press Association quotes a hospital spokeswoman as confirming Mr Mullany remains in a critical condition.
However, she refused to comment on reports that the 31-year-old is now brain dead and in a coma after the bullet travelled from his neck up through his skull.
Local police confirmed earlier today that five people were being questioned over the killing of Ms Mullany.
Inspector Cornelius Charles said the five local men were currently being held in custody at St John's police station.
The British couple, both from south Wales, were on the last day of their honeymoon when the incident occurred during the weekend.
A statement released through South Wales police by the families said: "We are deeply shocked and devastated at the recent events in Antigua and are struggling to comprehend what has happened to Ben and Catherine.
"We appreciate the support of our family and friends."
Dr Mullany and her husband were staying at the Cocos Hotel near Valley Church on their honeymoon after marrying on July 12th.
