Lil Wayne has retained the number one spot in the US album chart.

The rap star's Tha Carter III returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 200 last week and keeps Coldplay's Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends in second place.

Lil Wayne shipped 125,000 copies in the US this week, some 12,000 more than Coldplay, to stay at the top of the charts.

The Jonas Brothers' soundtrack to Disney film Camp Rock has remained in third place while Beck's new album Modern Guilt debuted in fourth.

Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus continued to climb, rising to fifth, and the Now 28 compilation held firm at number six.

The soundtrack to hit movie Mamma Mia! entered the chart at number seven and Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad rose by one place to eighth, with T.O.S (Terminate on Sight), the new album by G-Unit, and Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles rounding off the top ten.
