London band Larrikin Love, widely lorded as the leaders of the Thamesbeat scene, have split up after recording only one album.
The group, fronted by the charismatic Edward Larrikin, have called it a day after an amicable split.
In a statement the band said: "Larrikin Love have announced today that they have split up. The band would like to thank all their fans for their support and love over the last two years and assure them that all is amicable between the four members.
"Further details of ongoing projects from all members will be announced in the fullness of time."
In their short time together Larrikin Love released the Freedom Spark which was preceded by a clutch of singles including Happy as Annie, Edwould, Six Queens and Downing Street Kindling.
Larrikin recently made a guest appearance on Patrick Wolf's track Accident and Emergency and the two are close friends.
Wolf said he thought the band's debut was one of the "best records from last year" and it proved popular with critics.
Larrikin Love are due to join the Transgressive tour during this month along with Foals, Jeremy Warmsley and Battle.
The band's representatives could not be reached to confirm whether they will honour these tour commitments.
