A British soldier died and two other officers suffered injuries in a vehicle accident in southern Afghanistan yesterday.The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the incident, which occurred in central Helmand at nightfall, was not combat related and occurred when the vehicle used by patrolling troops "rolled over". No further details about the incident have been released.A medical team was called to the scene soon after the incident and transported the wounded to emergency facilities at Camp Bastion. One as-yet unidentified soldier succumbed to his injuries while the other two soldiers are in a stable condition and undergoing treatment for routine wounds.All those involved in the accident belonged to the 13 Air Assault Support Regiment Royal Logistic Corps. The next of kin of the deceased soldier have been informed.The last two weeks have seen nine British soldiers die in separate incidents in the strife-torn country taking the overall death toll from operations to over a hundred.
