Aidy Boothroyd's Watford held on to secure a point against West Ham after taking the lead against the Hammers with a goal from Marlon King.
Former Brighton hitman Bobby Zamora put the Londoners back on level terms, but in spite of their late pressure the Vicarage Road crowd celebrated their first Premiership points.
The Hornets shaded an entertaining first half with Hameur Bouazza sending over a couple of dangerous crosses that King and Ashley Young came close to scoring from.
Their opener came on 63 minutes as King let fly from the edge of the box cannoning a shot beyond Roy Carroll in the visitors' goal.
But their lead was shortlived as Watford's energy and industry couldn't prevent Zamora bundling home a cross from the impressive Paul Konchesky to equalise almost instantly.
As West Ham boss Alan Pardew sensed victory, he introduced veteran striker Teddy Sheringham to make his 700th Premiership appearance at the age of 40.
But for all their attacking intentions, it was the home side who came closest to stealing a winner as Carroll saved Anton Ferdinand's blushes as the young defender came dangerously close to putting the ball in his own net.
