Anton Ferdinand, the West Ham and England under-21 defender, has been arrested following an incident outside an east London nightclub earlier this month.
The 21-year-old Premiership footballer and younger brother of Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand, was arrested yesterday in connection with a brawl in the early hours of October 2nd, the Sun reports.
A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard confirmed: "Police were called at 01:13 BST on October 2nd to reports of a disturbance involving approximately 15 people outside Faces nightclub in Cranbrook Road in Ilford.
"A subsequent allegation of assault was reported to the police. A man in his 20s attended an east London police station [yesterday] in connection with the allegation.
"He has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed to return to a date in November pending further inquiries."
Ferdinand began his career at Upton Park and is widely regarded as one of the brightest English talents in the game.
