Tottenham manager Martin Jol is considering whether to put a bid in for David Beckham when the transfer window reopens as the star is currently struggling to break into the Real Madrid line-up.
Jol, whose side failed to break down Watford yesterday, currently lie 12th in the table and would look to take advantage of their London location.
The proposition of a return to English football for Beckham may be an attractive one as he looks to try and force his way back into England coach Steve McClaren's plans.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday Jol said: "I'll sit down and have a think about it tonight. We are well covered on the flanks already. It's a difficult one."
However, the Dutchman knows that spurs are well covered on the right wing. He explained: "We've got Wayne Routledge, although he is on loan, plus Hossam Ghaly and Aaron Lennon."
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan also seemed keen to secured Beckham's services stating that he did not expect him to go to another Premiership side after the time he spent at Manchester United.
Beckham himself may yet prefer another option and if he cannot make inroads into the Real line-up could prefer a switch to America where he has always said he would like to finish his career.
If he was to take that option it would almost certainly mean the end of any England aspirations for the former captain who wants to reach 100 caps for his country.
