Bolton captain Kevin Nolan returns from suspension today and is rallying his team mates ahead of their trip to Sheffield United, saying he is comfortable with the team's approach to games.
He said: "It sort of spurs me on more when people are saying we're a long-ball team, a big side, they bully us."
He says it could be a clash of similar styles today though: "It will be a good, well-fought game and hopefully we will come out victorious and the crisis will be over then."
Nolan was sent off against Newcastle having received two yellow cards for dissent and although he acknowledges that he should have kept his temper he believes that it is hard to take the passion out of the game.
Speaking about referees he said: "They are under so much pressure and so are we, it's a fine line. In the past few weeks a lot of players have been sent off for dissent."
"I didn't mean what I said to (referee) Mike Dean. I'm a very emotional player and a very committed player. Everyone knows off the field I'm a gentle giant."
Bolton travel to Sheffield United looking to end a run of three consecutive defeats while the Blades are hoping to build on last week's victory at St James' Park.
Blades boss Neil Warnock said he admired Bolton greatly: "I do smile when other sides criticise Bolton, it's usually when they have been beaten. They have got everything."
