Reigning Portuguese league champions Porto have retained their title after a final-day home victory over Aves.
Porto won 4-1 thanks to the opener from Adriano, two goals from Argentinean striker Lisandro Lopez and an own goal by Jorge Ribeiro.
It is Jesualdo Ferreira's side's 22nd Portuguese domestic title in their history, and their second since Jose Mourinho left to take charge of Chelsea in 2004 after bringing the Uefa Cup and the Champions League trophies to the Stadio do Dragao in two consecutive seasons.
Porto's archrivals Sporting Lisbon finished the season in second - one point behind the top side - after they beat Belenenses 4-0 in their final game of the season.
Goals from Liedson, Alecsandro, Yannick Djalo and Bruno Pereirinha sealed the win but they needed the leaders to slip up if they were to snatch the trophy.
Benfica, who led the league earlier this season before Porto took control, had to settle for third place a further point behind Sporting after a 2-0 win over Academica - Derlei and Mantorras were the scorers for the Lisbon side.
All three teams will take part in the Champions League next season, although Benfica must first navigate the third qualifying round whereas Porto and Sporting both qualify directly for the group stages.
