Today's hot-off-the-press transfer rumours. Some spot on. A few still in the balance. Others best taken with the proverbial pinch of salt.
Spain international Marcos Senna has insisted that his move to Manchester United will happen despite Villareal reportedly holding out for double United's original offer.
Despite these concerns, the £4 million offer will go ahead on time despite being contracted at Villareal until June 2007.
Another player coming to the Premiership from the Champions League runners-up could be Diego Forlan.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp wants the striker to head to the UK to strengthen his attacking lineup this season, despite Villareal holding the player under contract for the next four years.
One footballer making the journey in the opposite direction to Spain is Jose Reyes, who Real Madrid say is very close to confirming his move away from Arsenal.
Meanwhile new Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has hinted that he is close to making two new signings sometime next week.
Although not guaranteed, it looks like the two could be Sylvain Distin and Brett Emerton, who have long been linked to Boro.
Also in the north-east, Dirk Kuyt has said he is keen to fill the vacant striker spots at Newcastle United.
And Bayern Munich player Owen Hargreaves has also laid claim to a place in the Premiership - at some stage before the end of his playing career, that is.
Finally, Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has said that the club will look to make more signings before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
"We are delighted with the acquisitions we have made this time, they have got tremendous pace," Parry said.
