Up to 25 people are reported to have been killed after two trains were involved in a head-on collision in Belgium.
The trains crashed during morning rush hour in the city of Halle around 08:30 local time (07:30 GMT) on Monday morning.
The official reason for the crash has yet to be given with the number of casualties remaining unknown.
Belgian broadcaster VRT quotes the mayor of Halle as saying 20 people had been killed, although other reports put the figure somewhere between ten and 25.
Television pictures from the scene show the two trains crushed against each other with their fronts raised into the air.
A number of train services, including the high-speed line between Paris and Brussels, have been suspended as a result of the accident.
