Arsenal went to the top of the Premier League with an impressive 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium this evening.

The Gunners have always found it difficult to beat Bolton away from home and they got off to a poor start today as Kevin Davies gave the home side the lead. However, Arsenal came fighting back and equalised through Emmanuel Eboue, before Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson made the points safe.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would have been disappointed with the way Bolton took the lead as Davies outmuscled Kolo Toure to head home a corner from Joey O'Brien.

The goal seemed to wake Arsenal into life and they started to enjoy more of the possession and kept hold of the ball well. Toure almost made amends for his poor defending in the Bolton goal, but his volley went just wide of the post.

Emmanuel Adebayor then came even closer to scoring as he swapped passes with Bendtner before firing a vicious shot which came back off the post. Youngster Alex Song then came close to finding the net but his header came back off the woodwork.

Arsenal were deservedly back on level terms when Eboue latched on to a beautiful through ball from Bendtner before confidently slotting the ball past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

It took the Gunners only 90 seconds to the take the lead as young Brazilian Denilson curled in wonderful ball into the box and Bendtner scored from close range.

The first-half came to an end on a sad note as Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy was forced to go off injured after being on the receiving end of a horrendous tackle from Davies. The Bolton forward was lucky to escape with only a yellow card.

Bolton worked hard for an equaliser in the second-half but never really threatened, before Denilson added a third Arsenal goal late on to put the game beyond the home side.
