Arsenal climbed back to third in the Premier League with a convincing win over Hull at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger's side struggled to break down Hull's defence in the first half but took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Denilson's 30-yard free kick.
Geovanni had the chance to equalise in the second-half for Hull but Manuel Almunia saved his weak penalty, before Eduardo doubled Arsenal's lead soon after.
Abou Diaby rounded off an impressive performance with Arsenal's third, striking the ball into the roof of the net.
The result takes Arsenal above the in-form Aston Villa on goal difference and to within five points of Chelsea at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand on their surrounding rivals.
Arsenal struggled to control possession in the early stages at the Emirates as Hull's combative midfield harried Diaby and Denilson.
The home side soon carved out the first chances though with Diaby and Samir Nasri both hitting shots that were deflected to safety.
Eduardo came closest to opening the scoring when he sent a curling left foot shot narrowly wide from the edge of the box which had Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill sprawling across his goal line.
Hull looked to use Craig Fagan's pace up against Mikael Silvestre at left-back but their long balls from the back lacked accuracy, allowing Arsenal to pin them back for much of the first half.
Arsenal's delivery in the final third was poor though, with Eboue and Alex Song giving the ball away in a number of promising positions.
Players from both sides were involved in a large scuffle as half-time approached with Nasri and Stephen Hunt booked for their part in it.
It looked as though the incident had distracted both teams from the game, however, Arsenal landed a sucker punch on the stroke of half-time when Denilson sent a curling free-kick past Myhill.
Eduardo came close at the start of the second half after being played through by Andrey Arshavin before a shot from Diaby appeared to hit Kamil Zayatte's arm in the penalty area. Referee Steve Bennett was unmoved though and no penalty was awarded.
However, he pointed to the penalty spot at the other end moments later when Fagan was fouled by Silvestre off the ball. Geovanni saw his poor penalty saved by Almunia though before Hunt headed the rebound wide.
And Arsenal punished Hull almost immediately with Diaby exchanging passes with Song before crossing for Eduardo to tap in from two yards out.
With a two goal cushion Arsenal began to stroke the ball around confidently whilst introducing Aaron Ramsay and Theo Walcott from the bench.
Diaby wrapped the game up in the final ten minutes when he played a one-two with Arshavin before smashing the ball past Myhill from 12 yards out.
