The West Ham futures of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano look increasingly shaky as their national team coach has voiced his reservations over the pair's performances at the east London club.
According to BBC Sport Alfio Basile has expressed his concerns that the players are unsettled in London following their controversial move from Brazilian giants Corinthians on transfer deadline day.
"I hope both of them leave that club as soon as possible," he said. "I think they are half-hearted and I'm really worried about that. They play as if they are unenthusiastic.
"I hope for God's sake that Mascherano can go to Juventus as it has been said, even if he has to play in the second division in Italy.
"And Tevez can play in any position in the attacking line, but not as a left-winger like he is currently playing."
Basile took over the national team job in the wake of Jose Pekerman's departure after their World Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of hosts Germany.
He initially seemed to endorse the duo's move to Europe, predicting that the players would reach new heights in the Premiership.
"It's one of the best leagues in the world and players who play in the best leagues grow," he said when asked about the transfers in early September.
