Donington Park's hopes of hosting the 2010 British grand prix are still alive, according to newspaper reports.
There have been widespread reports in the media that Donington's final deadline to secure the funding needed to complete construction of the Leicestershire circuit had passed.
However, it now appears that Donington chief Simon Gillett has managed to get the £12m to the bank account allocated by Bernie Ecclestone at the eleventh hour, although reports in the Daily Express suggest the payment was rejected as it was made after close of business on Tuesday.
Ecclestone declined to comment on the situation and Donington has yet to release a statement.
