Amec causes FTSE 100 to slip slightly on Thursday

The FTSE 100 ended Thursday down slightly on the day the Bank of England announced it was holding interest rates at 0.5 per cent.
At the close of play the London index stood at 5,527.16 - a drop of 6.05 points or 0.11 per cent.
The oil services and engineering group Amec led the drops after its trading upgrade reportedly disappointed investors.
Shares in the company finished down 6.70 per cent to 765.5p.
Fresnillo and Aviva also suffered significant falls, down 3.22 per cent and 2.61 per cent respectively.
Schroders experienced the best of the day's trading, rising 6.39 per cent to 1,099p.
Royal Bank of Scotland also rose 3.80 per cent, with Lloyds Banking Group up 2.10 per cent to 53.89p.
Luxury fashion house Burberry Group was also up 2.78 per cent to 666p.
