World champion Fernando Alonso has demanded that his Renault team do more to help counter the threat of Ferrari.
Michael Schumacher has won the last two races, in San Marino and Germany, with Alonso finishing in second place.
Now the Spaniard has demanded that the team respond to the last two results and give him a car which will propel him to victory in front of his home fans at the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.
"We need to improve in all areas as we now need something more to win than we currently have," Alonso said. "I expect Barcelona will be a good race for us because we have always been quick there in testing."
The Renault team were the dominant force during the first three races of the season, with Alonso picking up 28 out of a possible 30 points.
However, since the Formula One circus arrived in Europe, Ferrari have taken up the mantle and Schumacher has moved up to second place in the drivers' standings.
Ferrari's resurgence has not surprised the 24-year-old though and he also expects McLaren-Mercedes and Honda to challenge for top spot at Barcelona.
"It's not a surprise that Ferrari are fighting, but I expect McLaren will arrive also," Alonso added.
"Honda are really strong in some races so there are four teams who have a chance to win and all four are strong and ready to fight."
Alonso's call is similar to the one made by Schumacher earlier on in the season and the German has already said that the winner of the drivers' championship will be someone from the team that develops the fastest.
