Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce says it would take an offer of £40 million for him to consider selling striker Roque Santa Cruz.
The Ewood Park club have already turned one offer from Manchester City for the Paraguayan and Allardyce has now said it would take British record fee for him to part with the 27-year-old, although he admitted that he doesn't expect anyone to pay that amount.
"I don't think anyone is going to offer us £40m for Roque Santa Cruz," Allardyce told talkSPORT.
"If it was offered, I think I would have to take it. I don't think the board would take too kindly to me saying 'No, I'm still not taking that'."
"The value of Roque as a player for us is far greater than what anyone could give us in terms of money.
"The money is no good to me at this stage of the season."
City manager Mark Hughes, who signed the striker from Bayern Munich in 2007, was keen to add Santa Cruz to his ever expanding squad at Eastlands but may now look elsewhere following Allardyce's comments.
