James Wade bowed out of the Grand Slam of Darts, after losing in a deciding leg to Terry Jenkins.
Wade had battled back from 4-1 down to take a 9-8 lead, but appeared to be effected by the crowd near the conclusion of the 18th leg, and Jenkins took advantage to advance to the quarter-finals.
Despite accepting that Jenkins was a worthy winner, Wade was not impressed with the conduct of the crowd near the end of the match.
Wade said: "It wasn't good near the end. They pay their money to come and watch but they don't realise that I am here to make a living, just like they do elsewhere."
Jenkins got the first break of throw in the fourth game for a 3-1 lead, hitting a 13-dart leg after Wade had missed three darts at a double.
The match continued on throw until Wade edged a tight ninth game to break, and then held throw to make it 5-5.
The next six games went throw to make it 8-8, but Wade then managed to break the Jenkins throw with a 13 dart leg to move one away from victory.
However, Jenkins hit straight back to send the game into a decider and hit a fantastic 121 checkout for a 12 dart leg for the match.
BDO player Scott Waites caused the shock of the night, coming from behind to beat Gary Anderson 10-9.
Anderson was profile with his scoring, hitting 11 180s, but that was not enough as Waites rallied to reach the quarter-finals.
The match went with throw until the fifth leg when Anderson broke throw, but Waites hit straight back with an 11 dart leg to level at 3-3.
He then took the lead, before Anderson responded with 11 and ten dart legs, in which he hit five perfect darts in both legs.
'The Flying Scotsman' maintained a two-leg cushion throughout the match until 9-7, when Waites began his comeback.
He held throw to make it 9-8, before capitalising on one missed match dart by Anderson to make it 9-9.
He then dominated the final leg, and took the match with his fourth match dart to progress to a quarter-final match with Simon Whitlock.
Earlier in the night, Whitlock had thrashed Steve Beaton 10-1 with a compelling display of consistency.
One 14 dart leg, and five consecutive 15 dart legs helped him take a 7-0 lead, before Beaton earned his first leg, only after his Australian opponent had missed nine darts at a double.
Normal service was resumed in the next leg, which Whitlock took with a 138 checkout for a 12-dart leg, and he soon saw out the match for a last eight place.
Robert Thornton withheld a Darin Young comeback to edge out the American 10-9.
After overcoming an early 2-1 deficit, Thornton surged to a 7-2 lead, before the nerves began to set in.
A number of missed darts in successive legs let in Young, and he pulled it back to 7-6, before Thornton stopped the rot and made it 8-6.
Thornton went one away from victory at 9-7, but Young maintained his momentum and pulled the match back to 9-9.
However, Thornton regained some of his earlier form to end Young's hopes with an 116 checkout for a 15 dart leg to progress to a quarter final tie with Terry Jenkins.
