Alan Pardew has hit out at the suggestion that Arsenal represent England in the Champions League.
The West Ham manager chose to launch a scathing attack on the Gunners while the rest of football lauded them for their victory over Real Madrid.
Arsenal have been heralded for being Britain's last representatives in the Champions League, but Pardew is not convinced.
The West Ham boss said: "I saw a headline saying Arsenal are flying the flag for Britain in the Champions League, but I had to wonder where that British involvement was when I saw the team.
"There was a big commotion when that first happened and it shouldn't be washed under the mat again."
The only British player to feature in the two legs of Arsenal's clash with Real Madrid was the Spanish side's David Beckham.
Arsenal have not played an Englishman since Sol Campbell came off at half time in the Londoner's game with Pardew's West Ham on February 1st.
Pardew continued: "Every English club should carry at least three British players in the first team. The foreign players have added massively to our game, but the soul of the club is the homegrown players and they should be integrated into that team.
"It is important we don't lose sight that this is the English Premier League and English players should be involved."
