Yorke: back to Help after ten years
Radiohead are just one of the bands who have joined the race to create the fastest recording of a track ever, for the new War Child charity album.
The Oxford rockers have joined the likes of Gorillaz, Razorlight, Bloc Party, the Manic Street Preachers and the Coral, who will each have one day to record a new, original track for Help: A Day In The Life .
The album will be available to download on September 9th, and available on CD a few weeks later, marking the tenth anniversary since the original War Child album was released in 1995
It raised more than £1.25 million in aid for children caught up in the Bosnian conflict.
The new record will help raise funds for children in countries affected by war.
War Child CEO Mark Waddington, said: "It was my intention that any new album we made in 2005 should match up to the feats of the past. That’s why we have set ourselves the challenge of remaking history and releasing the fastest album ever. . . again!
"It’s a tall order but we feel with the support of amazing artists we can make it happen and help a new generation of children affected by war."
Radiohead recorded Lucky on the original Warchild Help album in 1995.
