Tupac Shakur: top for the third week running
The late rapper Tupac Shakur topped the UK singles chart for the third week running last night.
Ghetto Gospel, which features a sample from Elton John's 1971 track Indian Summer, held on to the number one spot nearly nine years after he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in September 1996.
He prevented Mariah Carey from taking top spot with her new single We Belong Together, which entered the chart at number two.
James Blunt's You're Beautiful remained at number three, while Charlotte Church's debut pop record Crazy Chick fell two places to number four.
But there was good news for James Blunt on the album chart with Back to Bedlam ending Coldplay's four week stay at the top of the charts with X&Y.
Elsewhere in the singles chart, Kelly Clarkson's Since u Been Gone - at number five - was one of three new entries in the top ten.
Kanye West entered the chart at number eight with Diamonds From Sierra Leone and former S-Club 7 star Rachel Stevens entered at number 10 with So Good.
