British pensioners wish they'd travelled more and had more sex
When British pensioners look back on their life they are left with a nagging feeling of regret – about not having more sex.
According to a new survey, 70 per cent of Britons over 65 wish they could turn back the clock and increase their bedroom activity when they were younger
But it seems that the younger generation may be free of similar worries as 23 per cent of 20- to 29-year-olds asked wished they hadn't slept around as much.
It also seems that a number of the UK's younger generation wish that they'd chosen their first sexual partner a little more carefully, with 32 per cent of the 1,500 people questioned admitting they would have preferred to have lost their virginity to someone else.
But perhaps more startlingly, the UKTV Gold survey reveals that 21 per cent of the 1,500 over-65s wished they had married someone other than their first husband or wife.
The survey asked the two sets of respondents to name their top ten wishes, with sex and money dominating both groups' thoughts.
More than half of over-65s (57 per cent) wish they had travelled more, 45 per cent would have liked to change jobs and 40 per cent wished they'd have saved more.
But only seven per cent expressed a desire to have been famous, perhaps implying that few older people regret not having the opportunity to appear in reality TV shows such as Big Brother.
Among the 20- to 29-year-olds, 77 per cent would have liked to have got on the property ladder quicker, 56 per cent felt they had wasted too much money and, perhaps of concern to Labour and Tony Blair, 45 per cent said they would vote differently if they had their time again.
In contrast to the pensioners, 44 per cent wished they had had their 15 minutes of fame and only 34 per cent would have liked to travel more.
Perhaps harking back to university days, 30 per cent wished they'd studied harder and 28 per cent regretted boozing so much.
