After six months of sifting through the evidence, the five men and six women on the jury for the inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed have finally delivered their verdict.
The pair died as a result of unlawful killing due to gross negligence of the paparazzi and Henri Paul in isolation.

October 2nd 2007 - inquest begins
Mr al-Fayed's long legal battle to have the inquest heard before a jury finally reached fruition as Lord Justice Scott Baker began proceedings.

October 9th - Ritz hotel visit
Jurors visited the Paris hotel where the princess and Dodi spent their last hours on a two-day trip to the French capital.

November 27th - paparazzo withholds evidence
Romuald Rat, one of the photographers at the scene where Princess Diana died, said he would not appear to give evidence at the inquest "today or any day".

December 14th - the Diana letters
Two letters written by Princess Diana to Dodi al-Fayed in the month before their deaths were examined by the jury at the pair's inquest. In a letter dated August 6th 1997 Diana thanked Mr al-Fayed's son for the "most magical six days on the ocean waves".

January 14th - Paul Burrell
Diana's former butler took the stand, downplaying the romance between the princess and Mr al-Fayed. He told the inquest she was a "rebound lover" but, summing up, Diana's coroner said it was "blindingly obvious" Mr Burrell had been misleading.

January 24th - Trevor Rees
Princess Diana's former bodyguard denied any knowledge of a conspiracy to conceal the circumstances of her death. He was the sole survivor of the fatal crash.

January 28th - Diana's sister
Lady Sarah McCorquodale told the inquest Diana had admitted to her she feared Mohamed al-Fayed was spying on her. "She thought the boat was being bugged by Mr al-Fayed senior," she told jurors.

February 18th - Mohamed al-Fayed
Harrods owner Mr al-Fayed told the inquest members of the UK royal family wanted to "get rid" of her. He accused Prince Philip of being a "racist" and a "Nazi" and added: "With God's help, the truth will come out".

February 21st - former security chief
Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, urged the halting of the inquest when he gave evidence. He described the inquest as a "circus" and spoke out against its "total waste of time and money".
