Brian McFadden said ex-wife Kerry Katona was "disgusting" this week
Leona tops the chart, Brian slams Kerry and Britney's safe from Sam in this week's biggest celebrity stories.
Leona Lewis proved this week that she's far from a flash in the pan this week after becoming the
first ever British female artist to debut at number one in the US. Having broken chart records with her single Bleeding Love and debut album Spirit in her native land, the X Factor winner has raced to top the top of the Billboard Hot 100 across the Atlantic.
Is it justified to worry that Leona could turn into some crazy
Mariah Carey-esque diva?
Another singing sensation - well, she was once - was in the news this week, after the restraining order against
Britney Spears' former manager and confidant Sam Lufti was
extended until July 31st, keeping the Toxic star safe from the shady svengali. But it was not all good news for the 26-year-old, whose long-running legal battles were estimated this week to have
cost her more than $372,000 in legal fees so far.
Another celebrity facing a trip to the courthouse is former West Wing star
Rob Lowe, after a former nanny
accused him of sexual harassment. Her case against Lowe is made somewhat shaky by the fact that she returned to work for the Lowe family on several occasions over a seven-year period and by several of the Brother and Sisters actor's current and former staff rubbishing her allegations.
Brushes with the law continued in celebrity land this week after
Pete Doherty was reportedly
moved to a safe area of prison after learning of a plot among Wormwood Scrubs inmates to attack him. While the Sun newspaper reported this week that the former Libertine was using heroin in jail - with no evidence at all, naturally - he has since sent a letter to a fan claiming to be "clean". It'd be
really nice to believe it…
Though she's not normally featured in gossip columns,
Sandra Bullock hit the headlines this week, after she and her husband were
hit by a drunk driver while in a private car in Massachussetts. Both were unhurt by the incident, which was caused by 64-year-old Lucille P Gatchell driving while more than two-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
A star thought to be caning it in recent weeks is
Lily Allen, whose family are reportedly
worried at her refusal to go into rehab. Her professional career looks to be back on track however, following her breakup from Chemical Brothers DJ Ed Simons, as she debuted
two new tracks on her MySpace page.
It seems that only two types of stories can be written about
Amy Winehouse - drug or award-related. Luckily this week, it's the turn of the latter after Amy was
nominated for three Ivor Novello awards, with two nods in the best song music and lyrics category and a third for best-selling British song.
Elsewhere,
Richard and Judy confirmed their
move to digital TV, former Baywatch star
David Hasselhoff finalised his
divorce settlement with ex-wife Pamela Bach and Hollywood leading man
Ewan McGregor revealed he is "fine" after a
skin cancer scare.
And finally, former Westlife singer - and fiancee to Delta Goodrem, the lucky beggar -
Brian McFadden ended a long bout of silence this week by saying his ex-wife
Kerry Katona was
"an embarrassment" to himself and his family, after the one-time Atomic Kitten claimed her recent premature birth was caused by Brian's mother Mairead's decision to look after her grandchildren for three days longer than expected during the Easter holidays.
The two girls probably enjoyed a stay away from Iceland ready meals…
