Big Brother - the villains

Nicole was evicted with a staggering 94 per cent of the vote

After Nicole - a 19-year-old so sheltered that she had her parents pick her up after a day at the Glastonbury festival - was evicted from Big Brother 9 with a massive 94 per cent of the vote, inthenews.co.uk looks at other housemates who gave the brainless blonde a run for her money in terms of unpopularity.

Nick Bateman - Big Brother 1

 Nick Bateman
The inaugural Big Brother villain, Nasty Nick managed a miniscule post-show career after being kicked out for breaking the rules, which was featured on the front page of nearly every newspaper in the UK. His conspiratorial conversations with Northern Irish contestant Tom led to hilarious scenes in which eventual winner Craig Phillips found it impossible to understand Tom McDermott's accent as he explained that Nick had told him "Craig's the traitor."

Victor Ebuwa - Big Brother 5

Victor Ebuwa
Oooh, look, he's scary isn't he? A self-styled gangster, Victor's on-show exploits included a scrap with 'gobbiest woman in the world' Emma Greenwood, resulting in security staff entering the house for the first time and, after sustaining a cold, moaning to Big Brother that he had "the sniffles".

Craig Coates - Big Brother 6

Craig Coates
A hairdresser from Norfolk - though with that barnet you wouldn't trust him with a pair of scissors near your own head - Craig managed to finish fifth in 2005, though this was no thanks to his increasingly unsettling obsession with eventual winner Anthony Hutton. Craig locked onto the Geordie dancer after the eviction of Lesley Sanderson and steadily freaked out viewers with his control of the perma-tanned dancer.

Kinga Karolczak - Big Brother 6

Kinga Karolczak
Ah, Kinga… Just when it seemed that Big Brother had plumbed every depth possible, the Polish-Kuwaiti market researcher managed to take matters to a new nadir after her entry through the Secret Garden. She juggled her 34FF breasts, in case we hadn't noticed them spilling out of her leaf bikini. She allowed former Tory party speechwriter Derek Laud to fondle her bosom in the Jacuzzi, (though he's gay, so it probably doesn't count). And after a matter of days in the house, she embarked into the garden to masturbate with a wine bottle. Amazingly, Kinga reached the final and finished fourth. Hang your heads in shame, those who voted for her.

Grace Adams-Short - Big Brother 7

Grace Adams-Short
Looks quite friendly, doesn't she? And with that double-barrelled name, you'd expect the dance teacher to be a nice polite girl. You'd be wrong. Grace proved to be a thoroughly nasty bit of work, receiving a massive 87.9 per cent of the vote to be evicted just 30 days into the show. She threw a glass of water over 'Golden Ticket' winner Susie Verrico as she left, and labelled Susie and the remonstrating Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace as "mooses". She's calmed down a bit now, marrying Mikey Dalton and winning Sky 1's rubbish reality show Cirque de Celebrite with her ball-balancing skills.

Nikki Grahame - Big Brother 7

Nikki Grahame
A real shrinking violet, as you can see, Nikki was renowned as… well, probably the most irritating female contestant Big Brother history, even putting Jade Goody to shame with the extent to which you wanted to sedate just to stop her incessant whining. Fair play, then, to E4 for choosing to treat viewers to even more of her tantrums in the soul-destroying TV series Princess Nikki, in which Nikki got a job, then threw a strop. Inspiring stuff. Weight disorders are a serious matter, obviously, but they don't excuse acting like an arse.

Sezer Yurtseven - Big Brother 7

Sezer Yurtseven
While the Celebrity Big Brother racism row could be seen as the most shameful moment in the show's history, Channel 4 should be especially proud of themselves for allowing stockbroker Sezer into the house seemingly without having done any background checks. The former teen cricketer was arrested in 2004 on date rape charges - and subsequently acquitted - and answered bail on a second rape allegation in August 2006 (the case was dropped due to lack of evidence). He received 91.6 per cent of the vote upon being eviction, a total only recently bested by Nicole.

Charley Uchea - Big Brother 8

Alexandra De-Gale
Prior to the beginning of series eight, Channel 4 boasted of having 'the cousin of a Premier League footballer' in the house. Well, they were stretching it a bit by labelling Kieran Richardson a 'footballer', but they also failed to mention that Charley was one of the most unpleasant people ever to grace a TV screen. A former lap dancer and self-styled 'It girl' - not realising that you can't just call yourself that - she proved herself to be lacking in any redeeming qualities, openly professing her desire to be a WAG, starting fights with everyone and boasting about flings with footballers. Credit to the Daily Mirror, they imposed a ban on Charley-related stories after her exit.

Shabnam Paryani -Big Brother 8

Shabnam Paryani
Not necessarily a villain, just a hugely irritating contestant, Shabnam's headspinning entrance video made her a favourite for eviction from the start and sure enough, she was the first to leave the house. With a huge 81.4 per cent of the vote, Shabnam's exit sparked some of the most embarrassing scenes in TV history as she looked on in bewilderment as the crowd booed - well, they had just evicted her, after all - and then told the crowd "I love you all!" There was then… well, I suppose it was a dance, and lots of saying 'Chamone', as if she was a Bo Selecta extra, and then an attempt to teach the crowd the alphabet by chanting "A to the A to the B to the… C". A very odd young woman.

Alexandra De-Gale - Big Brother 9

Alexandra De-Gale
But she wasn't utterly vile, unlike the above contestant. During her audition, the 23-year-old told Big Brother "I'm not an It girl, I am it". But rather than being a 2008 version of Charley, it turned out that by "it", Alex meant a horrible, horrible bully. After being warned about her behaviour by Big Brother, she proceeded to talk about her "very strong team" outside the house and appeared to threaten other housemates by making reference to "my mans, my gangster friends". That's not on, obviously, but "mans"?? That's not even a word! Not just the nastiest Big Brother contestant, but also the least literate, it seems.
