After hitting all the Ones To Watch spots at the start of the year Santogold looks set to confirm the hype with her first single L.E.S Artistes. Previously released as a limited 12" with club favourite Creator last autumn it was only a matter of time before it was given the chance to shine alone.
The perfect introduction to an exceptionally versatile and exciting new act, L.E.S Artistes cements Santogold as the freshest sounding pop artist we've heard in a long time. Clever and insightful lyrics, the use of old sparse analogue sounds filled with gentle guitar strumming - in L.E.S Artistes Santogold has created a straight out of the box pop track that sounds like the best of a 21st century Debbie Harry.
The single sets the tone for forthcoming album 'Santogold' due 12th May. It features a guest appearance from Spank Rock's Naeem and is produced by Santi and friends, including FreQNasty, Diplo, Switch, John Hill and Disco D.
