Storming into the UK album charts at number three with their debut album Antidotes, Foals now get ready to release their third single Red Sox Pugie, perhaps their poppiest offering to date.

If you've witnessed one of Foals' most recent shows, then you would have most certainly been treated to this single, a firm live favourite and second release from their critically acclaimed debut album. The track is a complex arrangement unspoiled by lyrics about the rush of blood through vessels between two people. The images of wasp nests and terminals evoke starkness and a dearth of emotion in contrast to the fevered excitement of falling in love. And then, says Yannis, "everything is set on fire".

The lyrics gain more poignancy as Yannis repeats them over and over again over the ever increasing layering of the band’'s twitchy guitars and restless bassline, until the track climaxes into a rush so huge it's impossible not to feel the hairs stand up on the back of the neck.

Like Radiohead before them, Foals are a hugely bright, young band with long careers ahead of them. Debut album Antiodotes has been met by critical acclaim - these young men are ready to push boundaries, to keep evolving and keep creating music they believe in whilst remaining true to themselves, and Antidotes is an album which will go down in history as a definition in the sound of new music in 2008, and beyond. It's no exaggeration to say they are the best new band in the UK.

The band are touring Europe throughout April, and USA (and Japan) throughout May – the band have recently signed to Sub Pop label for America.

Debut album Antidotes was recorded in 2007 by David Sitek, luminary producer and longstanding member of TV On The Radio.

The album Antidotes is out now.End of story
