Martina Navratilova and actor George Takei are among those journeying to the jungle for this year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on ITV1.

The tennis legend and Takei - who played Mr Sulu in Star Trek and starred as Hiro Nakamura's father in Heroes - will stay in the Australian wilderness for the new series of the reality show.

Other contestants for the eighth series of the programme include journalists Esther Rantzen and Robert Kilroy-Silk, singer Simon Webbe and WAG Carly Zucker.

"We have a magnificent cast of celebrities in place but their trip to the jungle promises to be anything but a walk in the park," said executive producer Richard Cowles.

"Each year, in a bid to test the celebrities, we develop new ways of pushing the boundaries and this series will push them further than ever before.

"We have bundles of surprises up our sleeves and some of the most gruelling Bushtucker Trials ever seen."

I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! starts on Sunday November 16th on ITV1 & ITV2
