Former singer Kerry Katona has been checked into the Priory for treatment, it has been confirmed.

Her readmission to the rehab centre is said to be part of her regular treatment for bipolar disorder.

Filming of her MTV reality show Crazy In Love has been suspended until next week.

Early reports claimed that Katona had been plunged into depression after her husband Mark Croft was accused of sleeping with another woman.

"She's been locked away in her bedroom for days just staring at the wall - severely emotional and depressed," a source told the Sun newspaper.

"Everything she was reading in the press has built up."

But a spokesperson for Katona's agent, Max Clifford, dismissed the rumours, telling the Press Association: "As everyone knows, Kerry suffers from a bipolar disorder and she is just feeling a little down and depressed.

"She checked herself into the Priory to take five days off. Filming resumes on Monday."

Katona is expecting her second child with Croft at the start of May.
