John and Jocelyn sing their way out

Sunday, 07 Jan 2007 10:02
John Bardon and Jocelyn Brown were praised by the judges
Eastenders actor John Bardon and his singing partner Jocelyn Brown were voted off Just The Two Of Us last night, meaning they miss out on this evening's final.

The current series of the show has already seen Watchdog presenter Julia Bradbury, Casualty actor Luke Bailey and former Blue Peter star Janet Ellis crash out and, sadly for John, tonight was his turn.

It could well have been his and Jocelyn's much-anticipated version of Maneater which caused their flat ending, despite judge Tito Jackson telling John that he had "rocked" himself to the final.

"At last I can get a bit of a kip," he said, before being thanked by Jocelyn.

Their exit followed a tense few moments in which the remaining contestants waited to find out if they had made it through to the final.

Mark Butcher and singing partner Sarah Brightman remain firm favourites as the former England batsman hopes to emulate the reality TV success of team-mates Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash on Strictly.

But he will face stiff opposition from Strictly's Brendan Cole and Beverley Knight, while Hannah Waterman keeps the Eastenders flag flying with Marti Pellow in tonight's final.End of story
