Singer Peter Andre has revealed his split from wife Katie Price has led to the "worst few months" of his life.

The Mysterious Girl star and the model announced their separation on May 11th, having been married for three-and-a-half years.

The pair have received markedly contrasting publicity since their split, with Price widely criticised for wild partying in Ibiza while Andre remained in the UK with their children.

Discussing the end of the marriage, the Australian said: "There's a lot to it. I definitely knew what I had to do. I'm obviously never mentioning the reasons, but there's not just one reason."

Though Andre and Price have two children together, while Andre is stepfather to Price's son Harvey, he told Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles a reconciliation was unlikely.

"No. No, what's done is done. Let's not forget the fact there are far bigger problems in the world," he explained.

"But when you are in your own situation it feels like the biggest problem in the world.

"The hardest bit that's happened out of all of this is acceptance and when you can accept it then you can move forward. I'm going through the acceptance stage, which is very difficult."

Andre, who has a new single called Behind Closed Doors due for release on August 10th, said he and Price are still contracted to a TV company for a further year.

"I am filming. I've been contracted for two years, as Kate was. For the first five weeks (after the split) I hardly even talked," he added.

"The first bit of filming was when I went to Hong Kong, which was about two weeks ago."
