Scouting for Girls, McFly and The Feeling were among the artists celebrating the handover of the Olympic Games in London this afternoon.
Crowds gathered on The Mall and outside Buckingham Palace as the Beijing 2008 Games drew to a close on the other side of the world.
Cheers marked the moment London mayor Boris Johnson accepted the flag from the mayor of Beijing, kicking off a huge party with around 40,000 people enjoying the free music.
Appearances from gold medallists Bradley Wiggins and Phillips Idowu, as well as US swimming legend Michael Phelps and the Red Arrows, interspersed the musical performances.
James Morrison sang You Make It Real, Katherine Jenkins performed Nessun Dorma and Will Young wowed the crowds with Changes.
Heather Small rounded the show off with Proud.
