Pop singer Boy George has been found guilty of the false imprisonment of a male escort in 2007.

The 80s singer - real name George O'Dowd - was charged with having chained Audun Carlsen to a radiator at Mr O'Dowd's home in Shoreditch, east London, in April last year.

Mr O'Dowd, 46, had denied one count of false imprisonment and alleged that Mr Carlsen, 29, had hacked into his personal computer.

The former Culture Club member was found guilty at Snaresbrook crown court today.

Mr Carlsen and Mr O'Dowd arranged to meet after contacting each other on the social networking website Gaydar.

Mr Carlsen was paid by the singer to pose for photographs, and at their first meeting, the two took cocaine and Mr O'Dowd performed a sex act on the escort, Snaresbrook crown court heard.

Jurors heard last week that Mr O'Dowd believed his personal computers had been interfered with and suspected Mr Carlsen of being involved.

The pair exchanged further emails - in which Mr O'Dowd accused Mr Carlsen of hacking into his computer - but eventually arranged a second meeting.

It was on this occasion that Mr Carlsen was 'ambushed' by the former pop star and another man, said Heather Norton, prosecuting.
