The premiere of the hotly-awaited Star Wars animated feature Clone Wars took place in Hollywood yesterday.
Star Wars supremo George Lucas attended the bash at the Egyptian Theatre along with the actors providing voices for the characters, including Matt Lanter who played Anakin Skywalker.
He had originally worked on animated shorts while preparing the live-action prequel Revenge Of The Sith but subsequently decided to turn the work into a feature film of its own.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars focuses on the period of time between the second and third episodes of the second Star Wars trilogy.
He told MTV it had been difficult to get the actors who played parts including Anakin and Padme for the animated work because "those guys make more during their coffee break" and that "it was hard to get all the actors that would be off on set".
The feature film will be followed by a television series to be aired this autumn. It is released in the UK on August 15th.
