Actor Ryan O'Neal and his son have been arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.
Police allegedly found a quantity of crystal meth and his Malibu home on Wednesday.
Officers are reported to have been conducting a routine check on O'Neal's 23-year-old son Redmond, who is currently on a three-year probation after pleading guilty in June to possessing drugs.
Los Angeles county sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said that detectives suspect both men had methamphetamine but the substances need to be tested.
Mr Whitmore said that, as well as the drugs, which officers suspect belong to Redmond O'Neal, narcotics were found in Ryan O'Neal's living area.
O'Neal and his son were released on bail and could be charged with possession of narcotics.
The 67-year-old actor was nominated for an Oscar in 1970 for Love Story.
