Royworld are irresistible at the Camden Crawl 2008
inthenews.co.uk's Lewis Bazley is wowed by indie-pop greats Royworld at the Camden Crawl 2008.
The surprising sight of Hundred Reasons' Larry Hibbert at the mixing desk in momentarily disarming until the piano-driven, Echo-esque pop of opening song Elasticity enters the Crescent bar.
Screaming for radio play - in a good way - the glossy sound and Vangelis synth of Royworld's 80s-influenced repertoire produces one of the highest compliments one can ever pay a new band, in that every song seems like something you've known all your life.
The otherwordly Wish Ourselves Away leads into the Supertramp keyboards and belting falsetto chorus of Science and when Man and Machine is announced as an inclusion on their June debut, the anticipation in the tiny Camden pub is palpable.
