The Proclaimers: At number one again
The reworked Comic Relief version of the Proclaimers' 1988 hit (I'm Gonna Be) 500 miles is the top-selling single in the UK for a second-week running.
Also featuring Peter Kay as Brian Potter of Phoenix Nights and Little Britain's Andy Pipkin, played by Matt Lucas, the song is proving to have more legs than sister charity single Walk This Way by Girls Aloud and the Sugababes, which has dropped out of the top ten.
Taking up the two places below the Proclaimers are Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani, whose songs Girlfriend and Sweet Escape both move up from last week's standings.
In the albums chart Take That refuse to be dislodged from the top spot with Beautiful World despite the best efforts of recent-sexagenarian Elton John, whose latest compilation Rocket Man – The Definitive Hits debuts at two.
Everytime We Touch moves up one place meanwhile, with Kaiser Chiefs' Yours Truly Angry Mob nestling between Cascada's album and Loose by Nelly Furtado in the top five.
