Britney Spears has reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest song Womanizer.
This January will mark ten years since her first number one Hit Me Baby One More Time in 1999.
The song soared this week making a record-shattering jump from 96, breaking records set by TI with his 71-1 jump in September for Whatever You Like and last week's jump from 80-1 with Live Your Life.
Womanizer also broke first-week download records with sales of 286,000, making it the largest female artist opening-week count since digital downloads began being tracked in 2003.
The record came despite a major malfunction that occurred Tuesday when the song was accidentally disconnected and unavailable for sale at iTunes in the US and other countries for 12 hours.
Since Hit Me Baby One More Time went to number one, Spears has had four other top tens on the Hot 100.
Womanizer is her first single since her public collapse last year which resulted in two psychiatric hospital admittances and the loss of custody of her children and is the first single from her upcoming album, Circus, which is due to come out on December 2nd.
