Mick Jagger has been ordered to rest
The Rolling Stones have been forced to cancel a Spanish concert tonight amid fears over Mick Jagger's voice.
The Stones frontman was ordered to rest by doctors after they diagnosed laryngitis over the weekend.
It means that the gig in Valladolid has been cancelled, with no immediate plans to reschedule.
"I am very sorry to be cancelling this show", Jagger said.
"I always love playing in Spain, but unfortunately I have no other choice and I apologise to everyone who bought tickets for tonight."
Tonight's gig was due to be part of the Stones' A Bigger Bang tour, which began in Milan on July 11th and should see them tour Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Portugal, as well as the UK.
The latest health problem to afflict a band member comes six months after guitarist Keith Richards was given the all-clear to return to performing after he injured his head in Fiji.
Gigs in a number of European cities were postponed as a result of Richards' subsequent surgery and those due to take place in Nuremberg and Leipzig in Germany were cancelled.
Disappointed fans due to attend tonight's concert have been told they will get a full refund.
